The Continuum of Hope - Our Mission

The Sunflower Continuum of Hope

In early twenty twenty-five, I was praying hard about direction for a lot of things — especially where God wanted to use me, work-wise. Was it staying at my day job? Continuing to grow Sunflower Woodworx into a career? Or was it something else?

Then one day, like someone turning on a brain faucet, God started speaking to me. It was a flood of information for two to three days. I was taking notes feverishly — on breaks between meetings, in the evenings, sitting in the parking lot in the car, just anywhere. All kinds of ideas and thoughts and everything just flooding in.

After a couple of days, the faucet trickled down and eventually turned off. I was left with this smorgasbord of words and drawings all over OneNote. So I took a day or two and organized all of it, because I had to see it structured to know what I was actually looking at. And as I organized it, the vision became very clear. That vision is the Continuum of Hope. It's the graphic you see here on this page.

At the time — and for the year since this manifested — I thought this was a map of things the Lord wanted us to support. Kind of keeping it at one arm's distance, something we just looked at "over there." Like, here's the continuum, and we're just going to plug in and support those causes. But little did I know that just over a year later, God would put that understanding completely on its head.

God was NOT giving me a vision of things we were supposed to support. God was giving me His vision for what HE WANTED US TO DO — to be IN the game, not supporting it from the sidelines! We weren't meant to be cheerleaders, we were meant to be players on the field!  I don't know why — maybe I'm hard-headed at times, maybe I'm a little slow — but whatever the reason, I just didn't see it until now. It took a whole year to finally realize what God was telling me to do. God is lovingly showing me, a sinner, how He is going to use our family for His purpose!  How humbling is that!

And from that moment on, it turned everything upside down.

I can't even begin to explain how much it's changed how I feel about a lot of things around me. It's changed the way I'm thinking and prioritizing things. Just in the last couple weeks, it's been absolutely transformative. And every day I'm seeing more and more of the pieces coming into place, coming into focus. This is the beginning of a TRANSFORMATIVE journey for helping glorify God, share Jesus through action, and carry the Holy Spirit with us daily.

So, thank you for being a part of this journey. Thank you for visiting our website, Sunflower Woodworx and Sunflower Homeworx. And please know — everything you're doing here, yes, you're getting some products, you're getting a service to take care of a problem at home. But even more importantly, you are supporting these causes indirectly. And if you want, even directly. But you are a part of this journey now, by being a part of our journey.

So thank you. Thank you for being a part of that. We hope to share more alongside you in this journey in the months and years to come. Take care, and God bless.
